Description

Columbus Day could be a day where we take an honest look at history and honor an entirely different group of people; the Arawak and Taino natives who had their land, lives, and people stolen. We should seek to put lessons in front of our students that tell accurate stories, prioritize inclusiveness, teach empathy, cultivate cultural intelligence, inspire young citizens, and uplift marginalized communities. In order to do this, honest history lessons are needed.

It’s important to advocate for your child/student to make sure all of this, and more, is a priority at your school
