Based in Maryland, I bring classroom experience and a practical approach to the work I love: helping children learn to read.
My teaching experience spans PreK through fifth grade, with a special love for kindergarten and first grade. I have also served as a gifted and talented teacher.
That experience shapes the lessons, routines, and professional learning I create for educators.
I believe children deserve explicit reading instruction, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to connect what they learn to the world around them.
My work combines systematic phonics, phonological awareness, vocabulary, knowledge building, and comprehension. I also love helping educators make social studies a meaningful part of the school day.
Through my books and resources, I invite teachers to help students ask questions, explore perspectives, and think deeply.
