Description
Black Wall Street was a thriving community of over 10,000 free and successful Black families that was bombed and destroyed by white mobs 100 years ago. The efforts to cover up and erase this story have been heavily researched and documented. It is critical that we remember the people who created a thriving and independent community.
This resource is for young learners. We designed it for parents and teachers to engage their students in this history in an accessible way.
Included is an ebook, a booklet honoring the life of an amazing surgeon, a research form for a very successful grocery store, and a community planning sheet for young learners to imagine the beautiful place that once was.
We hope you find this resource helpful as we remember and honor the past.
