Description
The 15 Minute Phonics: Syllable Types Review unit consists of interactive and engaging lessons to build awareness of the six common syllable types. The lessons in this unit will provide students opportunities to develop an understanding of and use the six common syllable types to decode and encode words.
Students will work through a systematic series of skills each day.
-Review a common syllable type
-Identify spelling patterns consistent with each syllable type
-Divide multisyllabic words into syllables using knowledge of syllable type
-Segment and spell multisyllabic words using knowledge of syllable type
-Divide multisyllabic words into syllables and sort syllables in the categories based on type
Students will identify syllable the six common syllable types; closed, open, vowel-consonant-e (VCe), vowel teams, vowel + r, and consonant + le (Cle).
Students will identify and manipulate the six common syllable types.
Students will use syllable patterns to divide multisyllabic words into syllables.
Students will segment multisyllabic words into syllables to to spell.
Students will segment multisyllabic words and sort syllables by syllable type.
