I have been teaching since 2010. I have experience in K-2 and K-5 with Gifted and Talented small groups. I have presented for educators at the Teachers Pay Teachers conferences, Get Your Teach On conferences, and the ReLit conference.
I have also partnered with schools and equity teams to help them plan anti-racist lessons and start DEI work at their sites.
I am a very vocal anti-racist activist and I interact with people daily to help educate and learn along with me.
I have been married since 2010 and have 2 sons.
I have taught K-5 with a heavy focus and love for kindergarten and first grade. I attended the University of Central Florida and majored in Elementary Education. I have taught K-2 multiple times. I was a Prek/K teacher for one year and a K-5 gifted and talented teacher for a year as well.
My teaching style is very hands on. It’s important for me to help the students make connections and feel like they own everything we are learning about. I like to make school fun and educational at the same time. I am also all about social studies! I have been making it a priority in the classroom since 2016 and it was the classroom shift I never knew I needed!
